Make the pattern visible to the people who can change it.
RosterWise helps managers see what a roster really asks of people, so better decisions are easier to make and explain.
Why RosterWise exists.
I've worked in the sleep industry for over twelve years, though in a very different corner of it. About nine years ago, I worked on a research study into what our previous product could do for people working shifts. That project changed the direction of everything that followed.
I spent weeks interviewing shift workers: nurses, drivers, warehouse staff and engineers. I was struck by how quietly the impact built up. It wasn't dramatic. It was erosive. It wore down their energy, their patience and their time with the people they loved, and almost nobody outside their world seemed to notice.
What stayed with me was how much of it came from patterns that could have been seen and changed. A rest period moved by two hours. A rotation reversed. A run of nights shortened by one shift. Small adjustments that nobody was making, because nobody could see the pattern clearly enough to act.
Those conversations never left me. RosterWise is my answer to a simple question: what would it take to make the pattern in a roster visible to the people who have the power to change it?
Three principles behind the product.
Evidence in view
Every flagged shift shows why. We say what RosterWise checks and where it stops, and missing information is never shown as fine.
People decide
RosterWise never changes a roster on its own. The person responsible decides, and the decision is kept.
Privacy by default
People are identified by staff number, not name. Each organisation’s data is kept separate, and this site has no tracking.
